This study explored dimensions of equity-oriented health services at two urban Indigenous health centres located in two inner cities in Canada. Four key dimensions were identified as foundational to supporting the health and well-being of Indigenous Peoples: 1) equity-responsive care, 2) culturally safe care, 3) trauma- and violence-informed care, and 4) contextually tailored care. The authors discuss 10 strategies that intersect to optimize the effectiveness of health care services and provide examples of how they can be implemented in a variety of health settings.
